Apprentice Salaries

Apprentices are entitled to minimum wage, which is currently £4.15. During their apprenticeship, Apprentices will be paid at least the minimum wage throughout. However, some employers may pay their apprentices much more than this.

 

Apprentices salaries can fluctuate, this can be down to a variety of reasons:

  • Geographical location of the role
  • Sector type
  • Employers believe in the apprenticeship programme and want to encourage the apprentice to succeed.

 

The current minimum wage rate for an apprentice is £4.15 per hour and this applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. You can check you are being paid the minimum wage with the national minimum wage calculator via the gov.uk website.
